Adam & Kelly Ratcliffe.
We are the proud founders of AKR Ventures. You may know us as The Wheatsheaf Kitchen, a business that evolved during COVID. Following our return to England, from several years travelling and living abroad, we always knew we wanted a venture to call our own; our passion has always been food.
We started this journey with a takeaway pizza service, operating out of the Wheatsheaf Pub, Chinnor, Oxfordshire in March 2020 when the world was locked down. What started out as a simple idea to offer the local community a takeaway dinner option quickly turned into so much more – demand kicked off!
Soon afterwards, pub and restaurant doors were thrown open once again and our new challenge was to also offer a dine in option for our customers. Over the two and a half years we continued to operate from the Wheatsheaf Pub, our menu grew to offer Pizzas, Burgers, Ribs, Fish & Chips, and our famous Sunday Roast lunches.
In October 2022, we decided to bring our time at the pub to an end and turned our focus to what we really love – specialising in wood fired pizzas, running out of a converted horse trailer.
Our aim has never changed; to provide you with honest and delicious food that we pour our hearts into. We have always created and produced everything ourselves and are constantly working on our recipes and ideas to keep bringing tantalizing flavours to all our customers.
